PRESENT TENSES - EEC#1

Terdapat 12 tenses dalam bahasa Inggris yang terbagi menjadi empat kategori waktu (present, past, future) dengan masing-masing memiliki bentuk simple, continuous, perfect, dan perfect continuous. Berikut penjelasan singkat beserta rumusnya:

 

PRESENT TENSES 

1. Simple Present Tense

• Digunakan untuk kebiasaan atau kebenaran umum.
• Rumus: Subject + Verb (s/es) + Object
• Contoh: She reads books.

 

2. Present Continuous Tense

• Menunjukkan aksi yang sedang berlangsung saat ini.
• Rumus: Subject + am/is/are + Verb (ing) + Object
• Contoh: They are playing football.

 

3. Present Perfect Tense

• Menekankan hubungan antara masa lalu dan sekarang.
• Rumus: Subject + has/have + Past Participle + Object
• Contoh: I have finished my homework.

 

4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense

• Menggambarkan aksi yang dimulai di masa lalu dan masih berlanjut hingga sekarang.
• Rumus: Subject + has/have + been + Verb (ing) + Object
• Contoh: She has been studying for two hours.

 

PAST TENSES 

 

5. Simple Past Tense

• Menggambarkan aksi yang telah terjadi di masa lalu.
• Rumus: Subject + Verb (ed/irregular) + Object
• Contoh: They went to the park yesterday.

 

6. Past Continuous Tense

• Menunjukkan aksi yang sedang berlangsung di masa lalu pada waktu tertentu.
• Rumus: Subject + was/were + Verb (ing) + Object
• Contoh: He was sleeping when the phone rang.

 

7. Past Perfect Tense

• Menunjukkan aksi yang terjadi sebelum aksi lain di masa lalu.
• Rumus: Subject + had + Past Participle + Object
• Contoh: She had already left when I arrived.

 

8. Past Perfect Continuous Tense

• Menekankan durasi aksi yang terjadi sebelum titik waktu tertentu di masa lalu.
• Rumus: Subject + had + been + Verb (ing) + Object
• Contoh: They had been waiting for hours.

FUTURE TENSES 

 

9.  Simple Future Tense

• Digunakan untuk menyatakan kejadian di masa depan.
• Rumus: Subject + will + Verb + Object
• Contoh: I will call you later.

 

10.  Future Continuous Tense

• Menunjukkan aksi yang akan sedang berlangsung pada waktu tertentu di masa depan.
• Rumus: Subject + will + be + Verb (ing) + Object
• Contoh: They will be studying at this time tomorrow.

 

11.  Future Perfect Tense

• Menunjukkan aksi yang akan selesai pada titik waktu tertentu di masa depan.
• Rumus: Subject + will + have + Past Participle + Object
• Contoh: By next year, she will have graduated.

 

12.  Future Perfect Continuous Tense

• Menekankan durasi aksi yang akan terjadi sebelum titik waktu tertentu di masa depan.
• Rumus: Subject + will + have + been + Verb (ing) + Object
• Contoh: By 6 PM, they will have been working for eight hours.
